There are many ways you can help a farm sanctuary! Here are just a few examples:
SPONSOR A RESIDENT
Being a monthly sponsor for a sanctuary resident helps with contributing to a continual income. Having that guaranteed income is very valuable to sanctuaries and a wonderful way to help.
VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
Sanctuary work is A LOT of cleaning. Volunteers are gold, and committing to a couple of hours a week helping clean a farm sanctuary resident’s area and feeding them makes a huge difference. If you have any special skill sets in trades for big projects like fencing and barn builds, that can be very helpful to a sanctuary as well.
You can also volunteer virtually by doing admin work, social media posts, or volunteering your time if you have experience with accounting, marketing, website design, graphic design and fundraising as some examples.
DONATIONS
Other than being a resident’s sponsor, setting up a monthly donation or giving a one time donation is always helpful. Some sanctuaries also have Amazon wish lists, so buying items on their lists or asking what product donations they need and donating them will help a lot.
FUNDRAISING
Organizing a fundraiser is a lot of work. There are ideas from doing a birthday fundraiser on Facebook to connecting with a sanctuary and seeing if you can organize a fundraiser event for them.
LIKE & SHARE
Following their social media account/s, liking and sharing their content, is more helpful than you might think! It creates awareness of what they are doing to your friends and family and hopefully creates more support for the sanctuary.
